This year, we are proud to honor Assemblywoman Monique Chandler-Waterman and R. Eric Waterman as the Grand Marshals of the 2026 Pop Smoke Day Parade.

Together, they have dedicated their lives to uplifting Brooklyn through public service, youth development, education, violence prevention, and community empowerment. Whether advocating for families in Albany, creating opportunities for young people through East Flatbush Village, or standing alongside residents during times of need, their work reflects a deep and lasting commitment to the communities they call home.

Assemblywoman Chandler-Waterman has championed investments in education, mental health, public safety, and economic opportunity while serving the people of the 58th Assembly District. Eric Waterman has spent nearly two decades empowering young people and strengthening neighborhoods through mentorship, community programming, and grassroots leadership as Co-Founder and Executive Director of East Flatbush Village.
